Description: This sophisticated sculpture depicts a dapper waiter in motion, arms filled with an array of trays. It is signed and dated on the base: “Engelhart 1904”. It is also stamped with the foundry information on the base: “Osterr Gesellsch. Z. Forderung D. Medaillenkunst und Kleinplastik”.

Josef E. Engelhart (1864-1941), an Austrian painter and sculptor, studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts and the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He was one of the founding members, in 1897, of the Vienna Secession.

Condition: Excellent warm brown patina, fine condition.
