Description: We offer a signed painting by the artist Friedrick Mortimer Lamb. Painted on artists’ board, 19” x 13”, in a thin gold frame (20 ½” x 14 ½”), and signed F. M. Lamb at the bottom left corner. This well balanced composition of a Northeastern rocky outcropping is rendered with Lamb’s responsive hand, attuned to the landscape and light with relaxed confidence and sensitivity. Item #FA00146.

Frederick Mortimer Lamb (1861-1936) was a Massachusetts based artist best known for landscapes, dogs, horses and portraits. He was born in Middleboro and studied at the Massachusetts Normal Art School and the Acadamie Julian in Paris. He was a member of various regional artist clubs including the Boston Society for Water Color Painters.

Condition: Lightly soiled surface, otherwise very good condition.
