Description: This 1855 refrigerator broadside gives directions on how to properly use Schooley’s Patent Refrigerators. Some of the instructions are to properly ventilate the ice in the ice chamber, vegetables should be placed “next towards the register through which the air passes out into the external chamber”, and dairy products “should be placed near where the cold air flows into the preserving chamber.”

One of the refrigerator illustrations at the top corners of the broadside has the date of Schooley’s patent: “March 13th 1855″. 7 1/2″ x 8 1/2”. Item #AM00369

Condition: Minor paper separation at fold lines, minor staining. Generally very good condition.
