Description: We offer a signed etching of gnarled trees towering over figures walking around a reflecting pool by the German artist Peter von Halm (1854-1923). The plate size is 6 1/4" x 10 5/8" printed on heavy ivory paper, 13 3/4" x 18". The signature is found at the bottom right and the piece has been inscribed "No. 74" at the bottom left. Delicate yet vigorous line work defines the grand trees in the foreground of this fine example the artist’s work. Item #PR00089.

Like Whister, Halm often etched his plates in nature, lending his mark making an improvisational quality. He taught at the Munich Academy from 1895 until his death in 1923. Halm’s work is included in the permanent holdings of numerous museums and the print collection of Frank Lloyd Wright.
