Description: This excellent Pach Bros. photograph of Herbert Hoover shows the serious-faced profile of the 31st President. The “Pach Bros. New York” blindstamp is at the bottom left corner.
Includes the original transmittal envelope printed with the Pach Photograph Co.’s return address and a printed address label. Circular ink cancellation stamps indicate the photograph was mailed on July 11, 1932, near the end of Herbert’s term in office.
Hoover’s presidency is remembered for the beginning of the Great Depression, with the stock market crash occurring only eight months into his first year. He served one term, losing the presidency to Franklin Delano Roosevelt in the election of 1932.
