Description: This 1970s oil on board depicts a New Zealand lake, possibly Wakatipu, with sailboats moored and snow-peaked mountains in the background. It is signed lower left: Alan D. Cooke.

Alan D. Cooke (1932-2015) was a well-known Queenstown artist who moved to Wakatipu in 1954. He taught at Queenstown High School for nearly thirty years.
