Description: In this extremely kinetic image, Pitz has created a somewhat ominous picnic experience for four young adults.

Image is 10 1/2" x 13 1/2" on a sheet of cream wove paper that measures: 12 3/8" x 15 7/8".

It is signed in graphite at the lower right "Henry C. Pitz" and was published c. 1945 by Associated American Artists. Mat has a manuscript notation: "Members Souvenir 1945 Collector’s of American Art". Item #PR00341.

Henry Clarence Pitz (1895-1976), artist and illustrator, was a member of the National Academy of Design, American Society of Illustrators and the American Federation of Arts.

Condition: Very lightly toned at mat window, hinging tape at recto corners, otherwise good condition.
