Description

Description: This 1880’s image depicts a D&H Railroad engine entering a tunnel along the "Red Rocks" on the shore of Willsboro Bay on Lake Champlain.

Though not signed, we believe this to be by Seneca Ray Stoddard, both for image style and subject, as well as, the mount which is cream-colored with an orange border around the perimeter.

Overall this measures 15" x 11". Item #P00076.

Condition: There is scattered light foxing, visible mostly in the blank border and the light sky area. Resolution and contrast are decent. Mount corners have small chips and one 1/2" tear (not into photo). Generally quite displayable and unusual in this large format.
