The center image shows a cross-section of a pump, demonstrating how it works. The typed description below this image describes each labelled part of the pump and states in part: “The Air Chamber is so constructed as to serve the purpose of either a Water or Air Chamber, at the pleasure of the operator…”

A couple of the illustrated pumps have the patent date, “May 8th, 1855″ on their sides. 10 3/4″ x 8 1/2”. Item #AM00370

Condition: Fold lines, small holes at right margin and near bottom right corner. Generally very good condition.
