Description: An attractive hand-colored copper plate engraved map titled "Guiana Sive Amazonum Regio".

The map depicts an area from the Isla Margarita southeast to the coast of Northern Brazil east of the Amazon delta. At the northwest edge of the large lake, Parime Lacus, lies Manoa del Dorado… the golden city of the Incas. The map has multiple cartouches, sailing vessels and a sea monster. Lower right cartouche indicates the cartographer as Guiljelmus Blaeu of Amsterdam.

Condition: Overall lightly toned, separating at fold line at upper and lower margin, a few nicks to blank upper margin – generally very good and quite displayable.
