Description: This charming late 19th century watercolor of a substantial New England home is signed lower right: “W. Goodrich Beal”.
William Goodrich Beal (c. 1855 – c. 1919), painter and etcher, was active in the Boston area during the late 19th century. He exhibited at the Chicago Art Institute and his prints are in major collections, including the National Gallery of Art.
Mat window opening: 7″ x 9 1/2″. Drawn on a sheet of watercolor paper which measures: 9″ x 11 1/2″. Matted and in its original frame to: 13 1/2″ x 16″. Item #FA00352
Condition: Toned around the perimeter hidden by the mat (which is also toned). Generally good condition.
