Description: This finely executed bronze is a full-standing figure of Napoleon with long coat open enough to display an array of medals. Both arms are behind his back, with one hand holding what appears to be a spyglass. Base is signed by the artist: “Pradier” and marked by the foundry: “Susse, Paris”.

Jean-Jacques (aka James) Pradier (1790-1852) was one of the most notable sculptors of the 2nd quarter of the 19th century in France. He was a member of the Academie des Beaus-Arts and became chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur in 1828.
Condition: Very good condition with a warm, dark patina.
