Description
Description: Young’s works are often inspired by his exposure to Chinese calligraphy (his parents were Chinese immigrants). With a few strokes of ink he has fashioned a portrait of a hulking man on the move towards the viewer. It is signed lower right “John Young ’71”.
John Chin Young (1909-1997) was born in Honolulu and, during his more than sixty years as a working artist, exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery (Washington, D.C.), the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, Honolulu Museum of Art, etc.

Condition: Hinged at the upper perforated edge with old masking tape. Generally very good condition.
