Description: Young’s works are often inspired by his exposure to Chinese calligraphy (his parents were Chinese immigrants). With a few strokes of ink he has fashioned a portrait of a man seated on a pillow [?] with his knees brought up to his chest. It is signed lower right “John Young”.
John Chin young (1909-1997) was born in Honolulu and, during his more than sixty years as a working artist, exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery (Washington, D. C.), the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, Honolulu Museum of Art, etc.

Condition: Hinged at the upper perforated edge with old masking tape, a few errant specks of ink. Generally very good condition.
