Description: This tonally rich image is full of the texture of weathered clapboard and the lights and shadows of an array of hanging buoys. This is an artist proof (so marked lower left) of what was a very small print run… an edition of 40 (Stuckey 293). It is signed in full, in graphite, at the lower right.

Image measures: 9 3/4″ x 15 3/4″, printed on a 13 1/4″ x 20″ sheet of heavy wove paper. Item #PR00524

Stow Wengenroth (1906-1978) is remembered mostly for his highly accomplished lithographs. He was a full member of the National Academy of Design, American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Prairie Printmakers and his works are in most major art institutions (Library of Congress, Whitney Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, etc.)

Condition: Lightly toned at mat window, modest rippling, generally very good.
