Description: Dr. Edward Jenner (1749-1823), an English scientist, is widely credited as the pioneer of the smallpox vaccine. He is sometimes called the “Father of Immunology”. This oval portrait engraving is signed by artist “Smith” and engraver “Rabl”. An excellent late 18th c. or early 19th c. engraving. Platemark is 7 1/4″ x 4 1/2″; image is 3″ x 2 1/2″. Item #PR00019
