Description: This dynamic lithograph was published by the American Artists Group in 1937. It is signed in the plate lower right: “Spruance”. It features two “masked” men in the act of fencing and two seated fencers watching.
Image is 12 3/4″ x 7 1/4″, printed on a 15 3/4″ x 12 1/4″ sheet of “BFK” watermarked paper. Item #PR00651
Benton Murdoch Spruance (1904-1967), American painter & printmaker, chaired the Printmaking Department of the Philadelphia College of Art for 33 years.
Condition: Toned, with obvious toned line at former mat window, mounting remnants on verso, otherwise good condition.
