Description: This spectacular hand-colored copperplate engraving comes from Marc Eliesar Bloch’s work: “Ichthyologie, ou Historie Naturelle, Generale et Particuliere des Poissons”. The work was published between 1785-1797 in Berlin. This plate is number “CXXVII” and was engraved by A. F. Schmidt.

Platemark measures: 8 1/2″ x 13 1/4″, printed on an 11″ x 19″ sheet of heavy wove paper. Hinged and matted to: 14″ x 19 1/2″. Item #PR00562

Condition: Two short creases at upper margin, light toning at perimeter edges, generally very good.
