Description: This classic, part-printed vellum document confers the rank of Lieutenant Colonel by brevet to Charles Page “for faithful and meritorious services during the war”. The stamped signatures of both President Andrew Johnson and Secretary of War Edwin Stanton are beneath the text. Large engraved vignettes are at the top and bottom. Upper left corner is docketed in a secretarial hand and ink signed by Asst. Adjutant General E. D. Townsend.
