Description: This early part-printed document grants 600 acres in the township of Aurelius in Montgomery County (NY) to John Burkdoff (most likely for his service during the Revolutionary War). It is signed boldly at the lower margin by George Clinton, Governor of New York.

George Clinton (1739-1812), Revolutionary war Brigadier General, was the first governor of New York from 1777 to 1795 and again from 1801 to 1804. He also served as Vice President in Thomas Jefferson’s administration, as well as, James Madison’s first term as President.
Condition: Fold lines, light dampstains at lower portion. Generally very good condition.
