Description: Hudson Maxim (1853-1927) was an American chemist. He developed a smokeless gunpowder with his brother in 1889, for which he received a US patent in 1890. He went on to create a number of other stable high explosives for DuPont.

This autographed letter signed is a short, friendly note. It reads: "To  Henry S. Chapman with compliments and best regards, Hudson Maxim Feb. 22 – 1924." It is written on a 3" x 5" card. The included transmittal envelope (3 1/2" x 6 1/2") is addressed to Chapman at his workplace — General Electric Co. in Schenectady, New York — in type. Item #A00232

Condition: There is a remnant of a scrapbook page glued to the back of the card; otherwise, it is in excellent condition. The transmittal envelope is in very good condition.
