Description: Col. William H. Santelmann was the 18th Director of the United States Marine Band (1898-1927). His instruments were the violin, clarinet, and baritone horn. In this sharp, half-body, 8” x 10” image, he smartly faces the camera in full band regalia. Signed “With best wishes to Corporal John Pitcherale. From Captain William Santelmann.
