Description: Supreme Court Justice Byron White (1917-2002) signed this 5 ½” x 4 ¼” halftone image of his official portrait. The chest-up portrait shows a calm, bespectacled White gazing at the viewer.
White served as U.S. Deputy Attorney General (1961-1962) under John F. Kennedy until he was nominated by the President to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. He served on the Court from 1962 to 1993.
