Description: We offer a pencil signed lithograph by Rene Gruau, titled “Follies”. The composition 28 ¼” x 37 ¼” on white wove paper which measures 34 ¼” x 43”. It is signed and editioned (242/300) in graphite along the bottom margin, with a Circle Gallery blindstamp at the lower left corner. Item #PR00433.

Rene Gruau (1909-2004) was a fashion illustrator with a distinctive, aspirational aesthetic that continues to influence the worlds of fashion, advertising and design. His work was favored by Christian Dior, his sensibility helped to define the legendary brand. Gruau made work for numerous fashion houses and magazines, including Marie-Claire, Vogue, Balenciaga, Balmain and Lanvin.

Condition: Several tiny nicks at bottom blank edge, otherwise fine condition.
