Description
Description: This original late 19th c./early 20th c. photograph features a row of plain, wood-paneled buildings on an unpaved street in Hamilton, New York. A smattering of people stand on the dock-like porches outside the buildings. The town can be identified by the “Mrs. J. G. Abel & Co.” sign that is jutting out from the side of the righthand building. Other signs read: “Boston Store”, “Ten Dollar Fine For Driving in This Park or Scattering Papers or Rubbish By Order of Trustees”, and “Public Telephone Office”.
The 4 5/8″ x 6 3/8″ black and white photograph is affixed to its original 8″ x 10″ card stock mount. The mount has a photographer’s mark at the bottom right but we can’t decipher it. Item #P00245
Condition: Mount corners all have wear, scattered marks/stains, generally very good condition with very good resolution and decent contrast.
