Description: We offer a large albumen photograph of the Star Knitting Company in Cohoes, New York. It is 23 ¼” x 19 ½” on its original mount which measures 23 ¾” x 19 ⅞”. It is signed at the lower left: “Lloyd Photo.” There are some hand embellishments, including a later pasted on label indicating that “Cohoes Mill End” occupied one of the buildings, a hand colored sign for the Star Knitting Company and a single star flag. The photograph emphasizes the highly varied angles and pleasing monumentality of the of the late 1800’s industrial architecture. Item #P00124.

J. H. Llyod was a Troy based photographer who was awarded a special diploma of merit at the Paris Exposition for his images of the Troy Polytechnic Institution.

Condition: There are a few small spots in the sky, generally in good condition. Currently shrunk wrapped, hence the glare visible in our photos.
