Description: This original photograph has a caption in the image that reads: “Passage de Prince de Galles à Port Said” [Passage of the Prince of Wales at Port Said]. Taken during the Prince of Wales’s 1875–1876 grand tour through the eastern British Empire, this photograph shows the ship[s]? of the future King Edward VII at Port Said, Egypt. One can see three large ships close to shore with several other ships on the water in the distance. Crowds of people are in motion on the ground at the port, perhaps seeing the prince off on his way to India?

Condition: Lightly soiled at perimeter of mount, otherwise very good condition with decent contrast and resolution.
