Description

Description: These three photographs show views of a parade during Old Home Week in Middleburgh, NY in 1912. One photo shows a “Home Sweet Home” arch and horse-drawn carriages navigating down the street, groups of people standing on the sidewalks. The other two photographs show the same view of a street, just at different times during the parade. In one, two lines of people march down the road, in the other, a line of vehicles rolls by the watching crowds. A banner stretching across the road and the dates on the pillars of the “Home Sweet Home” arch indicate that this bicentennial celebration took place August 11th-16th, 1912.

All three photographs have “Photo Wheeler – Old Home Week Series – Middleburgh N. Y.” written in the negatives at the bottom edge. They also each have inked notes citing how the images were developed on the versos (e.g. “Soft Cyko Reg dev.”).  Each 3 1/2″ x  5 1/2″. Item #P00320

Condition: Slight silvering around the perimeter of each image, otherwise in very good condition.
