Description: This extremely detailed original charcoal drawing is a faithful rendition of John Young’s view of Rochester which John Bufford produced as a lithograph, c. 1836, titled: “The Upper Falls of the Genesee at Rochester, NY from the East”. Noted on the lower margin in pencil: “Drawn by N. A. Williams Aged 12 years”.
Image area measures: 14 1/2″ x 19 1/2″ on a 16 1/2″ x 21″ sheet of paper adhered to what appears to be period pasteboard. Item #FA00400
Condition: A few chips in the blank margins, a few short scratches or rubs, generally very good condition.
