Description: In the best tradition of the Rockport, MA artists, i.e. Emile Gruppe, Anthony Thieme, etc. Kautzky painted this dockside oil on canvas. From 1941 to his death in 1953 he and his family spent time at their cottage right by the rocky shore of Cape Ann.

Boldly signed lower right: “Ted Kautzky”. Stretcher measures: 20″ x 24″. In modern gilded wood frame to: 26″ x 30″. Item #FA00452

Theodore Kautzky (1896-1953), architect, painter, teacher, was born in Budapest and emigrated to New York City in 1923. He taught at Pratt University, NYU, University of Pennsylvania and University of Toronto. He was the recipient of numerous art prizes from prestigious art organizations throughout his career, including: Salmagundi Club, Allied Artists of America, National Academy of Design, Rockport Art Association, etc.
