Description: This fifteenth century illuminated manuscript page comes from a French Book of Hours. On one side, there are five capital letters decorated with gold leaf, green, blue and red ink, and two 24-line columns of red and black text. The other side has three capital letters decorated with gold leaf, blue and red ink, and two 24-line columns of red and black text.

Leaf measures: 7 7/8” x 6”. Matted to: 15” x 12 ½”. Item #FA00416

An old bookseller’s label on the back of the mat describes this page to be “not after 1425”.

Condition: Light overall soil, the blue ink on the tri-color letters has blotchy areas where the ink has faded, otherwise good condition.
