Description
Description: We offer a historical Staffordshire plate in classic blue and white. The plate is 6 ½” in diameter, stamped on verso Enoch Wood and Sons, Burslem (this marker was used form 1818-1846). It depicts “the Landing of the Fathers at Plymouth, Dec. 22, 1630.” The border has four cartouches; two at the right and left depict ships, the top cartouche states “America Independent, July 4, 1776” and the bottom: “Washington, Born 1732, died 1799.” Item #DA00171.
Condition: Short clay separation line visible in the center recto (from the firing).A few slight scratches to glaze, generally good and quite displayable.
