Description

Description: This fifteenth century French illuminated manuscript page comes from Horae Beatae Maria Virginis([Book of Devotions of) the Hours of the Blessed Virgin Mary). One side of the vellum sheet has seventeen lines, the verso has sixteen. The text is in Latin, written in dark brown ink in Gothic demi-Bâtarde script. Both sides are decorated with red and blue ink, delicate black flourishes, and bright gold leaf.
