Dorothy Stickney (1896-1998) was an American film, stage, and television actress, best known for her role Lavinia Day in the longest running non-musical play, Life With Father, on Broadway.

Howard Lindsay (1889-1968) was an American playwright, librettist, actor, director and theatrical producer. He is most remembered for his collaboration with Russell Crouse and his performance as “Father” (Clarence Day) in Life With Father.
