Description: Alexandre Dumas fils (1824-1895), son of famed The Three Musketeers author, Alexandre Dumas, scrawled and signed a brief note in French on this 5 1/8” x 4” sheet of blue stationery. Dumas was a French author and playwright whose most famous work, the romantic novel La Dame aux Camélias, was adapted into the wildly popular 1853 opera by Giuseppe Verdi, La Traviata.
Letter is untranslated on stationery imprinted with the address: “98, Avenue de Villiers”. Letter is accompanied by a 3 5/8” x 2 ¼” period albumen photo of Dumas that is still attached to an album page. Item #A01313
Condition: Fold line, toning at blank margins, overall very good condition with a clear signature.
