Description: This 2nd quarter 19th century marble dust or sandpaper drawing has it all… meticulously executed trees and buildings in the distance, a somewhat ominous moonlit sky, people, animals, sailboats, a steamboat, an accurately rendered mausoleum with Coles & Hurd family names visible. All housed in a wide lemon gold frame of the period.

The charcoal drawing measures 18″ x 23″ and is framed to: 24″ x 29″. A paper label on the verso of the drawing states: “S. Wood, Jr.’s Monochromatic Boards… Williams, Stevens & Williams, Dealers in Artists’ Materials, 353 Broadway, New-York.” Item #FA00408
