Description: This catalogue contains over 1,200 black and white photographic reproductions (24 pages of photo montages on photographic paper) of 60 of the sculptural works of Hiram Powers, as well as, a large variety of portrait paintings, landscapes, and religious works. The catalogue also includes two images of Powers and other photographs of notable people that were available for purchase from Longworth Powers (Hiram’s son) in Florence, Italy. Italian Renaissance art represents a large portion of the inventory, and some of the photographic portraits include Hiram Powers, William Cullen Bryant and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

The front paste-down has the oval sticker advertising Longworth Powers’ photography business as providing: “Photographs of Pictures Views & Statuary Portraits Carte de Visite to Life Size”. There is also an owner’s notation dated 1887.

Condition: Corners and spine ends lightly worn, the previous owner’s name is in ink on front paste-down,  one leaf has a piece of the upper corner missing, some pages have vertical creases near spine, minor staining. Generally good condition.
