Description: This wonderful illustrated pamphlet contains a four-page essay by Saul Ostrow titled: “Fluid Effects at the Outer Limits, The Paintings of Jack Whitten.” Whitten has signed and dated in black ink, “Jack Whitten ’94” under an image of one of his works, “Amazing Popcorn: 12 Pieces.”

Jack Whitten (1939-2018), African-American painter and sculptor, was an influential abstract and conceptual artist. In 2016 he was awarded a National Medal of Arts.
