Description: We offer a colorful, pencil signed lithograph of a woman lounging in a hammock by Rene Gruau. The composition is 30 3/4″ x 23 3/4″ on heavy wove paper measuring: 34 7/8″ x 25 7/8. It is signed and editioned in graphite along the bottom margin, 50/300, with a Circle Gallery blindstamp at the lower left corner.
A copyright on the back of the print reads: “1989 Rene Gruau”. Item #PR00625
Rene Gruau (1909-2004) was a fashion illustrator with a distinctive, aspirational aesthetic that continues to influence the worlds of fashion, advertising and design. His work was favored by Christian Dior, his sensibility helped to define the legendary brand. Gruau did work for numerous fashion houses and magazines, including Marie-Claire, Vogue, Balenciaga, Balmain and Lanvin.
