Wendell Berry (1934- ), a poet, novelist, farmer, and environmentalist, is the author of over 50 books of poetry, novels and essays. In his works, his deep care for the environment and local economies, as well as, the moral lapses of global economies are apparent. He is the recipient of several prestigious awards and is the first living writer to be inducted into the Kentucky Writers Hall of Fame.
