Description: The French artist Arman, born Armand Pierre Fernandez, is known for his “abstract accumulations.” This powerful screenprint is signed in graphite lower right and editioned at the lower left: “AP 5/30”. It is printed on a 30″ x 22 1/2″ sheet of deckle-edge Arches paper.
Arman (1928-2005) studied at the Ecole Nationale des Arts Decoratifs and at the Ecole du Louvre. His paintings, sculptures, and prints utilized an array of objects, either in multiples or broken or deconstructed. He co-founded the movement of Nouveau Realisme. His works are in numerous prestigious art institutions abroad and in the U.S., including: Hirshorn Museum, Detroit Institute of Arts, Walker Art Center, Museum of Modern Art.
