Description: In this good content typed letter signed, Singer writes to a Mr. Sullivan: “Thank you for your letter. I hope against hope that in the 80’s more people and nations will come to the conclusion that killing and torturing people will not make a better world. I really expect that humanity will make this decision or perish. It would be for me a great satisfaction to live to see it or at least to hear about it.” He adds a manuscript postscript: “P.S. I would also like to see the readers of the world go back to the short story which has been badly neglected all over the world.”

Written on a 10 1/2″ x 7 1/4″ sheet of stationery imprinted: “Isaac B. Singer 209 West 86th Street New York, N.Y. 10024”. Item #A01874

Isaac Bashevis Singer (1904-1991), Jewish-American writer, was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1978. He was also awarded two U.S. National Book Awards.
