Description: This colorful woodblock print typifies the 1960’s aesthetic. Ikeda skillfully incorporates the textural quality of the woodblock into both the portraiture and the background. It is signed in graphite in Japanese at the lower left and dated “’65” and editioned “2/90”. It is also signed in full in the plate.

Shuzo Ikeda (1922-2004) was a member of the Nihon Hanga Kyokai (Japan Print Association) where his focus was on woodblock printmaking (moku hanga).
Condition: Light soil in the blank margins with slight bumping at the edges. Generally good condition.
