Description: French classical concert pianist Monique de la Bruchollerie (1915-1972) somewhat inscrutably signed this program for a performance she gave at the Troy Music Hall in Troy, NY on March 12, 1953. She played a selection of music by various composers, including Vivaldi, Mozart, Brahms, Mendelssohn, Chopin, Debussy, Philipp, and Prokofieff.
At a young age, La Bruchollerie became a pupil of Isidor Philipp at the Paris Conservatoire where she left in 1928 with a first prize. She went on to study with Alfred Cortot, Emil von Sauer, and Raoul von Koczalski, and had a very successful international career. The program states: “Last season the French pianist, Monique de la Bruchollerie came to this country for the first time and made her North American debut as soloist with the Boston Symphony… and by popular request was back in Boston in six weeks”.
Four page program measures: 9 ½” x 6 ¼”. Item #A01048.
