Description: This anti-fascist image first appeared in the February 1st, 1942 issue of Esquire Magazine. Apparently, Esquire reprinted the political cartoon and issued it separately self-framed and mounted on cardstock. It is signed in the plate: “Arthur Szyk” and at the upper right corner: “© Esquire, Inc.”

Overall: 12 1/2″ x 16 1/2″. Item #PR00602

Arthur Szyk (1894-1951), Polish-born Jewish artist, worked primarily as a book illustrator and a political artist. He moved to the United States in 1940 and his art focused on WWII and the fight against Nazi Germany. His caricatures of the Axis powers appeared in Time MagazineColliersEsquire, etc.

Condition: Chip at lower left blank margin, otherwise very good.
