Description: This exhibition flyer advertises a showing of acclaimed American artist Howard Cook’s woodcuts titled: “Self Portrait Prints, Third Selection” held in New York City in 1932. One such woodcut is featured on the flyer, a powerful image of Cook with a woodstove in the background.

Howard Cook (1901-1980) is best known for his woodcut engravings and the murals he produced at court houses for New Deal art projects. His works are in the collections of many prestigious institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Whitney Museum of American Art, Bibliotheque National de France, and the British Museum.
