Description: In this friendly 1931 letter to Mr. Erold B. Beach of Marblehead, Massachusetts, Walter Chrysler writes: “It was awfully good of you to take the time to send me birthday greetings on my fifty-sixth birthday, and I appreciate this very much. I want to thank you for your kind expressions, and wish you every success and happiness in your work.”
Typed and signed on a 10 1/4″ x 7 1/4″ sheet of Walter P. Chrysler’s personal stationery imprinted with the Chrysler Building’s Manhattan address. Item #A01898
Walter Chrysler, Sr. (1875-1940) began his automotive career as head of the Buick Motor Company. By 1925 he founded his namesake business, Chrysler Corporation. In 1930 he completed construction of the Chrysler Building in New York City.
Condition: Mailing fold lines, light perimeter toning, letter was stored in one of those ubiquitous photo albums with non-slip lines and is still adhered to an album page. Generally good condition with a large, bold signature.
