Description: Dressed for an operatic role (in Donizetti’s Lucia), Schipa has inscribed and signed: “To My Dear friend Miriam Very sincerely Tito Schipa 1924”.

Tito Schipa (1888-1965), operatic tenor and conductor, performed a wide range of Verdi and Puccini roles. He made numerous recordings of arias and songs, and also appeared in several films. He sang his final performance at the Metropolitan Opera in 1941.

Condition: A short “crease” at his left temple, generally very good condition.
