Mary A. Livermore (1820-1905) was an American journalist, abolitionist, an advocate of women’s rights and Civil War aide, and the founder and, later, president, of the Massachusetts Women’s Suffrage Association. In 1869, she founded and edited “The Agitator” which later merged with the “Woman’s Journal” founded by the suffragist Lucy Stone.
