Description: In this friendly 1890 letter, Alma-Tadema writes to W. Delaplaine Scull: “Dear Sir I have nothing just now in my studio but if you want call some monday afternoon during next month & take your chance, you may find some subject to report upon”.
Written on one page of a 6 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of folded stationery imprinted with the address: “17. Grove End Road, St. John’s Wood, N.W.” Includes the original transmittal envelope. Item #A01887
Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema (1836-1912), known for his paintings of the luxury and decadence of the Roman Empire, was one of the most financially successful painters of the Victorian era.
Condition: Mailing fold line, otherwise very good condition with a neat, bold signature.
